A boy's barmitzvah looks to be a disaster
when it coincides with the 1966 World Cup Final.
Synopsis:
It is the summer of '66, and England is about to be consumed by World Cup Fever.
For 12 year-old Bernie though, the biggest day of his life is looming: his Bar Mitzvah, and the
day he becomes a man. However, Bernie's family are increasingly distracted by the threat of
losing their business and their wayward older son, and the scale of Bernie's Bar Mitzvah
diminishes daily. Worst of all the Cup Final is scheduled to take place on the same day and
when England makes it through the qualifying rounds, Bernie's longed-for Bar Mitzvah looks
set to be a complete disaster.
Starring Helena Bonham Carter, Stephen Rhea, Eddie Marsan
Directed By Paul Weiland (Made of Honor)
Jeffrey Lyons says "66 is one of the best films of the year. Everyone should seek out this little
film and I hope they do. "

Critical Praise:
Although the subject might sound specialized, the picture is engineered with such skill that it
transcends the ethnic details to become a universal story of a boy trying to find his place in
an inhospitable world. - Hollywood Reporter
Hilariously funny while totally believable, Sixty Six also leaves you with a warm and fuzzy
feeling. It is a father-son tale told with the details and care of someone who was there.
- Miami Herald
The tally of good-natured smiles is appreciable, and the Weiland family home-movies at the
close a lovely touch. - Time Out New York
Delightful coming of age comedy with a terrific cast, a superb script and a genuinely moving
finale - it really is the feel-good movie of the year. - View London
